Monitoring Well Installation and Monitoring Well Destruction Work Plan <br /> Former Unocal Facility No 5098 <br /> 5400 and 5606 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> ' Dear Mr Barton <br /> On behalf of Union Oil Company (Unocal) of California ENSR Corporation (ENSR), has <br /> ' prepared this work plan for the Former Unocal Station No 5098 at 5606 Pacific Avenue, and <br /> Former Montgomery Wards (Wards) Auto Service located at 5400 Pacific Avenue, Stockton <br /> California The location of the site is shown in Figure 1 and site features are illustrated on <br /> ' Figure 2 The work plan was prepared in response to a request from Stone Bros & Assoc as <br /> a condition of renewing the access agreement The replacement of MW-9 with MW-9R is <br /> required to facilitate planned site improvements <br /> Stone Bros & Assoc is responsible for identifying the location of proposed groundwater <br /> monitoring well (MW-9R) so that the well can be accessed by Unocal and its contractors during <br /> groundwater monitoring events and well destruction activities Additionally, Stone Bros & <br /> Assoc is responsible for protecting well MW-9R during site improvement and construction <br /> activities The proposed location for MW-9R is approximately 10 feet northwest of groundwater <br /> ' monitoring well MW-9 <br /> PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK <br /> ' ENSR will subcontract a state licensed drilling company, Cascade Drilling, Incorporated <br /> (Cascade), C-57 License No 717510, to perform the installation of groundwater monitoring well <br /> MW-9R and the destruction of MW-9 associated with the subject site The locations of the <br /> ' proposed monitoring well (MW-9R) and MW-9 are illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> Soil Borings and Sampling <br /> eA geologist from ENSR will observe Cascade advance soil borings MW-9R to an approximately <br /> depth of 70 feet bgs The borings will be advanced using a truck mounted drill rig using 8 1/4- <br /> inch diameter hollow stem augers The soil boring will be completed as groundwater monitoring <br /> well MW-9R <br /> Soil samples will be collected from MW-9R at a minimum of five-foot intervals and at changes in <br /> lithology to the total depth of the boring Soil samples will be logged using Unified Soil <br /> Classification System (USCS) visual and manual methods Soil samples collected will be field <br /> J Troiects10694015098 2937inaRReports15098 Well install MW 9R Work Plan doc <br /> �' _XC�JSnC'- "c'1V'rJnh°'?ir��JarV1C6` <br />
