Homer St, Stockton
APN 087-130-42, SR0081887
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed the Soil Suitability/Nitrate
Loading (SSNL) Study, dated March 13, 2020 and June 13, 2018 and submitted on March 13, 2020 for the
above noted location and has the following comments for your consideration.
The SSNL was prepared to determine the suitability of the above noted parcel for onsite wastewater treatment
system (OWTS) usage and the potential impact of nitrates to groundwater for the proposed project
development. The proposed development project includes:
1. A three-bedroom home dwelling with OWTS usage of 200 gallons per day of wastewater.
Based on the information provided, the EHD can make the following findings:
1. The existing domestic water well shall be tested for nitrates and DBCP. Samples are to be taken and
analyzed by a State-approved laboratory (San Joaquin County Development Title, Section 9-1115.7).
2. Rainfall contribution data used to calculate potential impact of nitrate to groundwater is taken from
Chico area with the assumption of Chico area geologically being similar to San Joaquin County.
Rainfall data shall be taken from area closest to the project site to determine potential impact of nitrate
to groundwater.
3. Submit SSNL Study addendum addressing above-mentioned constituents. EHD will determine the
suitability for onsite wastewater treatment system (OWTS) upon reviewing SSNL Study addendum.
If you have any questions please contact Naseem Ahmed, Registered Environmental Health Specialist,
REHS, at nahmed@sjgov.org or (209) 468-3436.
Michael Kith, REHS
Program Coordinator
C: Live Oak GeoEnvironmental
1868 E.
