LOGE 1832b: De Casas NLS Addendum Page 3
April 17, 2020
attached to this report. Live Oak then averaged the concentrations of the three
samples, for a value of 0.27 mg/L-N to represent the nitrate concentration of rain.
Because the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department has requested that
local and recent data be utilized wherever possible, the concentration of the Lodi
rainwater been selected for use in the nitrate loading calculation.
Quantity of Domestic Wastewater
Mr. De Casas proposes to construct a three-bedroom home on the Site. The Site is
currently vacant.
Based on the March 2020 method, the effluent flow rate for a three-bedroom home is
calculated as 100 gallons per day (gpd) for the first bedroom and 50 gpd for each
additional bedroom, for a total of 200 gpd.
Other Variables
The other variables utilized in the nitrate loading calculation (effluent stream
concentration, site area, denitrification factor) remain unchanged from the original
report.
Nitrate Loading Estimate
The following table presents a summary of the assumptions for, and results of, the
nitrate loading calculation for the Site when the new methods are utilized. Details of the
calculation are presented in the attached Plate 3.
Table 1.
