The six IAS points were installed surround the single IAS well at the site. On the same
day a soil vapor extraction well was installed on the site to provide soil extraction
capabilities in the southeast corner of the treatment area.
• Beginning on 25 March 1997, the newly installed IAS points, the soil vapor extraction well
and vapor wells VE-1 and VW-1 were netNN-orked into the existing remediation network. This
phase of work has not been completed, asphalt still is required to finish the network
installation.
• On 30 April 1997 the King, Buck/Hasstech (KBH) catalytic oxidation system (soil vapor
extraction system) completed a full-24 hours of operation. The unit has been able to remove
additional hydrocarbons from the newly added SVE wells to the network.
• However, the upper limit of hydrocarbon vapors which the catalytic oxidation unit can
process has already been exceeded. The upper limit was reached within the initial 24-hours
of operation, causing the catalytic oxidation oven to over-heat and shutdown automatically.
• The EnvioSparge IAS system began full-scale operation on 01 May 1997. The seven-
well/point network leas already increase dissolved oxygen concentrations to the ground water
and volatilization of the dissolved hydrocarbon has been observed in the surrounding
monitoring wells on the site:
1803 Rest March Lane;Suite A;Stockton,California 95207
Telephone(209)956-0264 .
