Robert Marty
Following our review of your June 15 2006 proposal for a limited Soil Gas investigation
and collection of Ground Water Samples we have determined this proposal is not
acceptable and needs expanding the scope of work proposed.
Considering the ongoing monitoring and reporting of the site conditions as required the
conclusion of this review will result in a denial of the petition for a low risk closure of
the site or another course of action. Foremost of our concern at this time is the additional
criteria required by the C.V.R.W. Q.C.B.for closure consideration
Comparison of site data required with ESLs and CHHSL s of the San
Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Board with a iustification for containment
levels that exceed the ESLs and CHHSLs
An evaluation of the potential vapor intrusion into occupied buildings in the
area, especially the adiacent residential structures.
We do not believe the proposed work plan has satisfied criteria and health risk
assessment such as contaminants remaining, the existing water supply wells and
consideration be given that the plume is stable and sufficiently limited to lateral and
vertical extent
A more detailed proposal should include for consideration item ;
1 Up-date Vapor Extraction System
2 New extraction wells at various depth
