This <br /> propexty was later acquired under the name of Chapin Bros. Inc. <br /> In 1972 one 8,000 storage tank was replaced by the Shell Oil. It was estimated that <br /> approximately Dye thousand (5000) gallons of fuel were lost over a sixty day(60) <br /> The holes were observed in the former tank after removal <br /> At all times the tank operated under a permit from the San Joaquin County Health <br /> District and had passed all integrity teas. <br /> In the early 1990's Chapin Bros, Inc desired to sell the property and aware of the <br /> previous gas spill anticipated that an investigation would be regaired to eval=e the <br /> degmc and spatial extent of contamination. <br /> In October 31, 1990 the necessary permits to remove all storage tanks was obtained. The <br /> 5nn of ROGER:FOOT ASSOCIATES, NC, provided the proposed schedule of charges <br /> and general conditions. <br /> Upon receiving the necessary low interest loan from Ca.Trade &Commerce the <br /> investigative work including the tank removal cornmenced. The investigative work or: <br /> the sub-surface analyses of soil samples indicated contamination had Occurred below the <br /> tank level prior to removal of the petroleum storage and dispensing system. <br /> On April 6, 1992 the State Water Board gave us notice of acceptance as a priority`B" <br /> claim number 557, <br /> The process was highly regulated, preliminary work included' <br /> Bids to define subsurface emiro=ental investigation to evaluate t+he degree and <br /> Lateral extent of the site <br /> Request bids for proposal (R.F.S..)Remediation Feasibility Stuvy <br /> Request bids for a(R.F.P.)
