Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. -
qf Northern California
15 February 1996
AGE-NC Project No. 96-0203
Ms. Mary Meays
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY PHS-END
P. O. Box 388
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject: Work Plan for Well Abandonment/Destruction
PDM Strocal, Inc.
2324 Navy Drive, Stockton, California
Dear Ms. Meays:
At the request of Mr. Gordon McCord of PDM Strocal, Inc., Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
(AGE) prepared this Work Plan for the Abandonment/Destruction of the ground water monitoring
wells at the referenced site.
In accordance with the San Joaquin County Public Health Service - Environmental Health Division
(FHS-EHD) requirements, the monitoring wells at 2324 Navy Drive must be properly abandoned to
obtain conditional site closure. The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1 -Location Map.
Two 2-inch diameter ground water monitoring wells(MSV-1 and MW-2) are currently Iocated on the
property. According to a representative of PDM, each well is approximately 15 feet in depth.
Monitoring well locations are illustrated on Figure 2 - Sire Plan.
In preparation for abandonment, each well cover box or monument cover will be removed. Each well
will be filled with grout and a pressure will be applied to each well for approximately five minutes to
ensure grout penetration into the filter pack. After the filter pack has been penetrated, each well will
be approximately three feet below surface grade with grout. Finally, the upper three feet of the wells
will be over drilled and filled to the surface with grout.
In order not to conflict with the site operations, PDM Strocal, Inc. has requested that the
abandonment/destruction procedures be conducted on a Saturday. We would like to schedule the
procedures for Saturday, 24 February 1996..
1803 West March Lane, Suite A,Stockton,California 95207
Telephone(209)956-0264 FAX(209)956-0700
