You have repeatedly refused to comply with PHS/EHD's directives to
sample the soil which is stockpiled on site, re-sample the monitoring wells and to have the residual soil
contamination evaluated for the potential threat that may be posed to groundwater. However, PHS/EHD has
determined that a conditional site closure may be warranted..
Please be informed that a work plan to destroy the two existing monitoring wells, a well destruction permit
application and a$60 fee must be submitted by February 16, 1996 or enforcement action involving the San Joaquin
County District Attorney's office may be initiated relating to your failure to comply with the San Joaquin County
Development Code with regard to abandoned wells.
If you have any questions, please contact Mary Meays, Senior RENS, at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Mary Meays, Senior RE S Diane M.
