No contaminants were detected in the soil samples collected.
In order to consider the site for site certification (closure) the following information must be provided to
PHS/EHD:
1. The stockpiled soil from the 1989 excavation attempt should be sampled for disposal
characterization and property disposed of
2. The on site monitoring wells should be re-sampled to confirm that groundwater has not been
impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons.
3. A closure summary report evaluating the tank #2 residual soil contamination should be
submitted which is signed by a Registered Professional Geologist or Engineer.
Please submit the information requested by September 19, 1994. Once PHS/EHD has reviewed the
information submitted, a determination will be made either recommending the site for closure or providing
further directions. If closure is recommended, the monitoring wells will require destruction prior to issuance
of a closure letter.
If you have any questions, please contact Mary Meays, Senior RENS, at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Mary Ways, Senior REHS Diane M.
