r -
0 •
r- 4
2.0 SCOPE OF WORK
2.l _Oefj.tion gGro -Water Andiul
The direction of ground water flow in the vicinity of the tank excavation
is currently unknown. To determine the direction of flow, a minimum of
three monitoring wells will be required. Water levels in the three wells
will define the ground water gradient, from which the direction of flow
will be determined.
i
As shown on Figure 2, one monitoring well already exists in the immediate
,. vicinity of the tank excavation. This well, (M-1), has an approximate.
depth of 20 fent. This well will be utilized as one of the three wells
required in the investigation,
}
Two additional wells, M-2 and M-s, will be installed in the locations shown
on Figure 2. These three wells form a triangle 150 feet on a side, which
will allow definition of the gradient using a three point method. k
r
- onitorina Wells
4
r
All construction activities will be conducted in accordance with the site
Health and Safety Plan (attached document). A well detail is shown on
Figure 3. Note that the wells will be installed using four-inch Polyvinyl
k Chloride (PVQ pipe, to allow future conversion to extraction wells, if
I necessary. All utilities will be located with the assistance of the
utility companies prior to drilling,
v
 -- nonfeEnvironmental
s
rn
