= "-7 ?..
6
cement-grade bentonite, and 94 pounds of API Class A Portland cement will
be used for the annular seal. The grout slurry will be placed in the HSA
until the HSA is filled with grout to the surface. Sections of the HSA
will be retracted and removed (maintaining a level of grout above the lead
auger). Grout will be added to the inside of the HSA until filled with
grout to the surface. The procedure will be repeated until all HSAs have
been removed. A six-inch-diameter protective steel casing with locking
cover will be placed over the well and cemented in-place to protect the
well.
i After well installation is complete and the grout has set for 24 hours, the
will will be developed by mechanical surging, using a surge block, and a
° bailer. The development water will be stored on-site in a Baker tank,
subject to disposal after analysis.
y
ZZ..
The elevation of all three monitoring wells will be determinn'd by land
survey. Additionally, the existing well (H-1) will be recompleted for
subgrade access after construction of the South Bay Addition. Specific
monitoring wall construction details and a geologic log will be recorded by
.. the field geologist/engineer. f
2.3 . Gol]eg tion of Ground Witer Samos
Samples of the ground water will be obtained from the three ground water
monitoring wells and analyzed for TEPH. The sample results will determine
th
if any diesel fuel has entered the ground water and migrated in the
direction of these wells. U s 6l.t. YY1e'f-iaa
Hater level measurements will be taken in each well prior to sampling,
' Then, each well will be purged of at least three casing volumes using a
, < ! bailer or submersible pump. Purge water will be stored on-site in a Baker
tank, subject to disposal atter analysis. Following the purge of the well,
samples will be collected using a bailer and stared in glass sample
containers with Teflo6l-lined caps.
oeEnvirnmen
ttal
,
3t -
