Lower Sacramento Rd, Acampo
APN 005-030-007, SR0081892, PA-0400074 (SU)
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed the Soil Suitability/Nitrate
Loading (SSNL) Study, dated March 2020 submitted on March 16, 2020 for the above noted location, and
has the following comments for your consideration.
The SSNL was prepared to determine the suitability of the above noted parcel for onsite wastewater treatment
system (OWTS) usage and the potential impact of nitrate to groundwater for the proposed project
development. The proposed development project includes:
1. A major subdivision of two parcels totaling 80.8 acres into 54 parcels with one or more acres and a 5
acre designated remainder with OWTS usage of 280 gallons per day.
Based on the information provided, the EHD can make the following findings.
1. The SSNL Study supports the suitability for OWTS usage with the following conditions:
1. As stated in condition C of approval letter dated February 2, 2006, all percolation tests are to be
conducted in areas of proposed engineer-designed septic systems. All percolation tests are to be
minimum of 100-feet away from wetland boundary. Prior to approval of percolation tests, parcel
Map shall be submitted to the Environmental Health Department with dimensions of Septage area
required by percolation tests under the San Joaquin County Sewage Standards, Section 10.3.4.
a. As part of SSNL Study, only 16 out of 54 parcels were tested for percolation rate. All
parcels shall be tested for percolation rate. Percolation tests shall meet the setback
requirements from proposed septic system and water wells.
2. As stated in condition D of approval letter dated February 2, 2006, due to elevation and
topographical conditions, engineer-designed septic systems are to be installed under permit and
inspection with the Environmental Health Department with current fee based on current schedule
time of payment.
a. Estate type zoning (R-R1) shall require a double-leach field system with alternating
distribution box to be installed at the time of construction per the San Joaquin Count
Sewage Standards. It is possible that the leach field design may be larger than
current Sewage Standards design criteria.
1868 E.
