A T E S I N C <br /> was contained in labeled DOT approved 55 gallon drums and stored on site Field parameters and <br /> purged volumes are shown on well purge logs included in Attachment I <br /> LABORATORY ANALYSIS <br /> Groundwater samples from the monitoring wells were placed on ice and transported under chain- <br /> of-custody protocol to AEN laboratory Groundwater samples from wells MW 1, MW4, MW6, <br /> and MW7 were analyzed for TPHg and TPHd by EPA method 8015 modified, and BTEX and <br /> methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) by EPA method 8020 <br /> ANALYTICAL RESULTS <br /> Groundwater samples from wells MW I and MW6 contained concentrations of benzene in excess <br /> of the State of California Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 1 part per billion (ppb) No <br /> other petroleum constituents were detected above MCLs <br /> Samples collected from downgradient wells MW4 and MW6 contained TPHd concentrations of <br /> 780 parts per billion (ppb) and 240 ppb, respectively This appears to be inconsistent with <br /> historical analytical data which had not indicated the presence of TPHd in these wells <br /> • Analytical results for groundwater are summarized in Table 2 Laboratory data sheets and chain <br /> of custody documentation are included as Attachment II <br /> FREE PRODUCT REMOVAL <br /> Free product has been monitored and removed from MW2 monthly since a passive skimmer was <br /> installed in this well on June 27, 1997 During the first quarter 1998, a total of 3 64 liters of <br /> product was removed <br /> -- <br /> During the February 1998 site visit the 50-gallon double containment—drum was observe <br /> dammed, apparently caused by contact with a t ar ctor rai er rig The containment drum was not <br /> punctured and no release of product occurred to the environment On March 12, 1998 ATC <br /> personnel transferred the free product contained in the damaged drum to a 5-gallon container <br /> which was subsequently sealed with a closed lid and placed into a 30-gallon DOT-approved <br /> double containment drum and stored on site A summary of product volume removed and <br /> previous product analytical data is presented in Table 3 <br /> • <br /> 943341QUARTLYIIQR-1998 DOC 3 <br />
