O <br /> smirN <br /> /• ENVIRONMENTALTECHNOLOGIESCORPORATION <br /> April 2, 1998 <br /> 94334 <br /> Mr Jeff Wong <br /> San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services, EHD <br /> 304 E Weber Avenue, 3rd Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Subject Fourth Quarter 1997 Groundwater Monitoring for KOK Realty, 2403 W Navy <br /> - Drive, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Wong <br /> This letter report summarizes field work completed by Smith Technology Corporation (acquired <br /> by ATC Associates) on behalf of KOK Realty at 2403 W Navy Drive, Stockton, California <br /> during the fourth quarter of 1997 The site location is shown on Figure 1 <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The site was the location of one underground storage tank In response to a San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) request for a subsurface <br /> investigation, RESNA Industries, Inc (RESNA) was engaged by the law firm of McDermott, Will <br /> & Emery to assess the nature and extent of soil and groundwater contamination at the site <br /> In early 1992, a RESNA field geologist observed the drilling of three soil borings (MWI, MW2, <br /> and MW3) at the site to characterize subsurface conditions Groundwater was encountered at a <br /> depth of approximately 15-16 feet below ground surface (bgs) The borings were advanced to a <br /> depth of approximately 30 feet below grade and subsequently converted to groundwater <br /> monitoring wells <br /> Laboratory analysis of soil samples collected from the three borings determined that petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon constituents were detected in the soil within 4-5 feet of the static water levels at the <br /> site Laboratory analysis of groundwater samples collected from the wells subsequent to <br /> development indicated that gasoline constituents were present above laboratory method detection <br /> limits in the groundwater samples collected from each site monitoring well Initial groundwater <br /> monitoring data (March 1992) determined groundwater flow direction to the south A detailed <br /> 1260 Graphics Drive Modesto,CA 95351-1502 (209)579-2221 Fax(209)579-2225 <br /> Engineering Consulting Remediation Construction <br />
