1
INTRODUCTION
1
' At the request of McDermott, Will & Emery, Smith Environmental Technologies Corporation
conducted a subsurface site investigation to further define the extent of soil contamination near
' the former contaminant source, the former underground fuel storage tank (UST) The site is
located at 2403 West Navy Drive in Stockton, California (Figure 1) This report summarizes the
details of field procedures used during this investigation, analytical results, and conclusions and
recommendations
BACKGROUND
' Site Location
The project site is located at 2403 West Navy Drive, in Stockton, California The site location is
shown on Figure 1 The site is located in a commercial/industrial area
Previous Work
The site was the location of one underground storage tank In response to a PHS/EHD request
' for a subsurface investigation, RESNA Industries Inc (now Smith Environmental) was engaged
by the law firm of McDermott, Will & Emery to assess the nature and extent of soil and
' groundwater contamination at the site
' In early 1992 a RESNA field geologist observed the drilling of three soil (MW boring s 1, MW2
,
and MW3) at the site to characterize subsurface conditions Groundwater was encountered at a
depth of approximately 15-16 feet below ground surface The borings were advanced to a depth
-\9433,,ftVubrptao 1
1
SMTH
