' Working To Restore Nature
3_.4 Monitoring Well Development
Newly installed groundwater monitoring wells MW4, MW5, MW6, and MW7 were developed
on July 14 and 15, 1994 Each well was purged until the extracted water was relatively
sediment free. Development/Purge logs are included as Appendix III.
3.5. Fluid Level Measurement
' After fluid levels had been allowed to stabilize, groundwater levels were obtained from all site
wells on July 15 and 22, 1994 Levels were taken utilizing an electronic water/product
interface probe capable of measuring with an accuracy of 1/100 of a foot. No free product
was detected Groundwater elevation data is presented in Table 2
2.6 Groundwater Sampling and Analysis
4n July 14 and 15, 1994, a groundwater sample was obtained from each on-site monitoring
well. The sample was collected after purging and checking EC, pH, and temperature. These
parameters were measured again after sample collection to ensure samples collected were
representative of formation water. Field development/purge logs are presented in Appendix
III
Subsequent to purging, groundwater was transferred to appropriate sample containers, using
' clean, disposable bailers with bottom emptying devices to reduce volatilization. Sample
containers were then labeled with sample identification, placed on ice, and shipped under
' chain-of-custody to Argon Mobile Labs
' The water samples were analyzed by Argon Mobile Labs for BTEX and TPHg by EPA
methods 8020 and modified 8015, respectively The method detection limit at Argon Mobile
Labs for BTEX and TPHg in water is 0 5 and 50 parts per billion (ppb), respectively.
Groundwater analytical results are summarized in Table 3, and laboratory data sheets are
presented in Appendix IV
1
1500911REP0R'Ps15R-0894 FNL
r
