' k` ■ KLEINFELDER
5 ANALYTICAL RESULTS
1
' 5.1 Soil Sampling Results
' Two soil samples from each Geoprobe location were analyzed for petroleum constituents Each
soil sample submitted for analysis was collected above encountered groundwater at depths
ranging from within the top five feet and 8 to 10 feet bgs
' The upper 8 to 10 feet of soil in the Geoprobe borings consisted of gravelly, sandy, silty clays to
clay Based on review of boring logs it appears that the soils within the water bearing zones
' (depths near 10 feet bgs and deeper) are predominantly silty to sandy clays
' TPH-d was detected in soil samples collected from the 4 to 5 foot intervals at 12 locations (GP-1
through GP-12) The concentrations ranged from 21 mg/kg to 39 mg/kg The highest
concentrations were in samples collected within the UST excavation area (GP-1, 2, and 9)
' TPH-d was detected in seven soil samples (GP-1, GP-4, GP-7, GP-9, and GP-12) from the 8 to
10 foot intervals The highest concentration of 2,900 mg/kg and 140 mg/kg were in samples
collected from GP-1 and GP-9, within the former UST excavation The remaining 8 to 10 foot
interval samples from GP-3, -4, -5, -7, and-12 contained concentrations of TPH-d ranging from
16 mg/kg to 52 mg/kg
MTBE was detected in two locations (GP-1 and GP-3) The detected levels were 23 gg/kg in
GP-1 at 5 feet, and 11 ug/kg and 16 µg/kg in GP-3 at 5 and 10 feet, respectively
TPH-g was detected in only one sample collected from the 10-foot interval in GP-9 The
reported concentration of TPH-g is 3 5 mg/kg
5.2 Groundwater Sam lin Results
' TPH-d was detected in all thirteen groundwater samples (GP-1 through GP-13) collected for
analysis The detected values of TPH-d ranged from 0 10 mg/L to 330 mg/L
TPH-g was detected in groundwater samples collected from five Geoprobe groundwater samples
(GP-1, GP-2, GP-3, GP-9, and GP-11) The detected values of TPH-g ranged from 0 15 mg/L to
0 87 mg/L GP-1, 2, and 9 are located within the former UST excavation and GP-3 is located at
' the southeast corner of the excavation (downgradient) GP-11 is located to the west of the former
UST location (predominantly upgradient)
The fuel oxygenate MTBE was detected in groundwater samples from 7 Geoprobe locations
(GP-1, -2, -3, -4, -5, -7, and -9) All seven of the locations are located within or downgradient of
the former UST excavation The range of detected MTBE concentrations were from 0 59 ug/L to
20-2322-05 E01/2011R061 Page 9 of 14
Copyright 2001,Kleinfelder,Inc January 12,2001
