DUTIES OF THE EMERGENCY COORDINATOR <br />Whenever there is an imminent or actual emergency situation, the Emergency Coordinator <br />must take the following actions immediately. <br />Mark time Action to be taken: <br />accomplished: <br />1 -Activate internal facility alarm or communication to personnel <br />2 -Notified appropriate emergency response agencies, as needed. (see Emergency <br />Contact List) <br />3 -Identify the characteristics of any released materials": <br />4 -the material <br />5 -the exact source <br />6 -the amount <br />7 -the air spreading <br />8 -Assess possible hazards to human health or the environment consider direct and <br />indirect effects, <br />9 -effects of gases generated <br />10 -effects of contaminated surface water run-off from fire control <br />11 -effects of chemicals used to control emergency <br />12 -effects of possible groundwater contamination <br />13 -Will emergency threaten human health or environment outside the facility. If <br />so, <br />14 -Notify authorities that an evacuation may be necessary (see Emergency <br />Contact List) <br />15 -Report the following information <br />16 -Name and phone # of reporter <br />17 -Name and address of facility <br />18 -Time and type of incident <br />19 -Name and quantity of material(s) involved, to extent known <br />20 -Extent of injuries, if any <br />21 -Hazards to human health or environment outside facility. <br />22 -Take all reasonable measures necessary to ensure that the emergency does not <br />spread at the facility. <br />23 -Halt operations <br />24 -Collect and contain released waste <br />Following an emergency: <br />25 -Provide for storing or disposing of recovered waste, contaminated soil or <br />surface water, or any other material from the emergency. <br />Ensure that: <br />26 -All emergency equipment is cleaned and ft for its intended use before <br />operations are resumed. <br />Revised 3/1/2013 14 <br />
