s
s+ ,
suspended mixture to achieve sedimentation separation. This sedimentation
occurs within a short time, after which the clean water is drawn off using side
taps, and the clean water is pumped over into Tank#4, the recycled water
tank. After the clean water is decanted off the top of the sediment laden
water, the bottom phase, is dropped off by gravity into a number of flat
square concentration tanks for further clean water decanting and subsequent
air drying of the flocked sediment. This sediment is semi-solid and is disposed
in the proper designated landfill. Tank#3 is fit with mechanical level guage,
and hi level electric warning devices as well.
The flocculation procedure is performed whenever the quantity of dirty water
warrants it being done.
The clear water that is pumped over into Tank#4, is finally filtered using a
pressure leaf filter and diatomateous earth pre-coat. This filter and pre-coat,
will remove all the residual solids down to % micron size from the pressure
pump make up water reservoir, tank#4. Swimming pool chlorine products
rwill be used to control biological growth, and the monitoring of this chlorine
level will be done daily using standard swimming pool equipment and criteria.
The operation of tank #3 and #4 are active, rather than passive, as with the
first part of the system.
Although this simple system will not be state of the art technically,
incorporating a lot of sophisticated electronic monitoring devices, it will work
just as well and will be much more operationally and financially friendly.
Once sufficient experience is earned ie. The number of daily washes needed to
fulfill the requirements of the taco truck operators, the overall capacity of the
system will be adjusted as required, and monitoring procedures as well.
 I
