Donna Keller
GeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc.
2300 Maryann Dr.
Turlock, CA 95380
Donna,
July 18, 2014
I have enclosed our report "A Title 22 `Hazardous Waste' Toxicity Evaluation of Two Waste Samples" for the
samples designated "Entrance Trailer -East I Gallon Jug Pink -Cleans" and "Entrance Trailer -East All
Supercleaner White Powder" that were collected on June 18, 2014, and delivered to our testing laboratory on
June 26.
Entrance Trailer -East 1 Gallon .Tug Pink -Cleans:
The results of this test indicate that the waste sample "Entrance Trailer -East 1 Gallon Jug Pink -Cleans" was
acutely toxic to fathead minnows at the test treatment levels. The LC50 of this sample was <250 mg/L, which
is less than the Title 22 "Hazardous Waste" classification threshold of 500 mg/L, and therefore, the sample
should be considered a hazardous waste with respect to fish toxicity.
Please note that the test solutions that were prepared for "Entrance Trailer -East l Gallon Jug Pink -Cleans"
initially had pH levels >pH9. The test method (Polisini and Miller 1988) specifies that "alkaline samples with
pH values greater than 8.5 may be adjusted ... to a pH of 8.5". In addition, "a second, pH -adjusted control may
accompany any bioassay in which the treatment pH has been adjusted." The test solutions were accordingly
adjusted to pH8.5 prior to testing and a pH8.5 Control was prepared and tested as well.
Entrance Trailer -East All Supercleaner White Powder:
The results of this test indicate that the waste sample "Entrance Trailer -East All Supercleaner White Powder"
was not acutely toxic to fathead minnows at the test treatment levels. The LC50 of this sample was >750 mg/L,
which is greater than the Title 22 "Hazardous Waste" classification threshold of 500 mg/L, and therefore, the
sample should not be considered a hazardous waste with respect to fish toxicity.
If you have any questions regarding this testing or the report, feel free to call my colleague Dr. Scott Ogle or
myself at (707) 207-7760.
These tests were performed under GeoAnalytical Lab Report # A4F2412.
Sincerely,
114,,"4Digitally signed by Michelle
^ Kawaguchi
Date: 2014.07.22 08:05:34 •08'00'
Michelle Kawaguchi
Aquatic Ecotoxicologist
Pacific EcoRisk is accredited in accordance with NELAP (ORELAP ID 4043).
