INTRODUCTION
s
' At the request of Mr Eric Weilburg of Moore Truck Lines, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc
(AGE) has prepared this quarterly report for the property located at 3400 Newton Road (site),
' Stockton„ California This report documents procedures and results for the installation and
development of three ground water monitoring wells and quarterly ground water monitoring for the
third quarter 2001
IThe site and the surrounding area are illustrated In Figure 1 On-site structures and well locations are
illustrated on Figure 2 Background Information, well installation and ground water monitoring
' procedures for the site are summarized in the AGE-prepared documents. Preliminary Investigation
and Evaluation Report, dated 15 September 1999 andMonitoringWelllnstallation Work Plan, dated
23 May 2001 Ground water sample data from November 1999 to the present are summarized in
Tables 3 and 4
2.0. PROCEDURES
Three ground water monitoring wells(MW-2,MW-3 and MW-4)were installed in September 2001
and developed 1n October 2001 Monitoring well MW-i and domestic well DW-1 were monitored
and sampled on 18 September 2001 Field work was performed in accordance with Central Valley
Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of
underground storage tank (UST) sites
I21 DRILLING AND SOIL SAMPLING
I On 27 and 28 September 2001, three soil borings were advanced at the site The soil borings were
advanced using a CME-75 high torque drill ng, equipped with 8 25-inch diameter hollow-stem
augers to install monitoring wells MW-2,MW-3 and MW-4 The drill ng and two-man crew were
supplied by Mitchell Drilling Environmental Auger returns generated by drilling were stored on-site
in properly labeled DOT (Department of Transportation)-approved 55-gallon drums pending
laboratory analysis
Soil samples were collected ahead of the drill bit using a California modified split-spoon sampler
loaded with three pre-cleaned 2-inch by 6-mch brass sleeves The samples were collected from
Imonitoring well borings MW-2,MW-3 and MW-4 at five-foot intervals, beginning at 30 feet below
surface grade (bsg) in boring MW-3, at 35 feet bsg in boring MW-2 and at 40 feet bsg in boring
MW-4 using a 140-pound hammer to advance the sampler The number ofblows required to advance
Advanced GeoEnvironmcntal,Inc
