26 November 2001 <br /> • AGE-NC Project No 99-0592 <br />' Page 3 of 6 <br />' 0 Oxygenated compounds - di-isopropyl ether (DIPS), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), <br /> MTBE, tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME), tertiary butanol (TBA), methanol and ethanol <br /> in accordance with EPA Method 8260 Modified, and <br />' a Ethylene dibromide (EDB) and 1,2-dlchlorocthane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8260 Modified <br /> I <br />' 2 5 MONITORING WELL DEVELOPMENT <br /> On 05 October 2001, monitoring wells MW-2, MW-3 and MW-4 were developed utilizing a <br />' stainless steel hand bailer Ground water was purged from each monitoring well until the produced <br /> ground water was visually sediment free Approximately 20 gallons of water were removed from <br /> wells MW-2, MW-3 and MW-4 Purged ground water was containerized in properly labeled DOT- <br /> approved model 17H 55-gallon drums and was stored on-site Field sheets and data are included in <br /> Appendix B <br /> 2'6 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES <br /> On 18 September 2001, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water <br /> in monitoring well MW-1 relative to the top of the well casing (well head) However there was no <br /> standing water in well MW-1, therefore the water level could not be measured and the well could <br />' not be purged or sampled The field sheet and data are included in Appendix C <br />' 2 7 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> A water sample was collected from domestic well DW-1 after the well purge valve was opened and <br />' water was allowed to run until the pump turned on The sample was transferred into <br /> laboratory-supplied 40-m1 EPA-approved VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18%hydrochloric acid as <br /> I a sample preservative and into one 1-liter amber bottle without a sample preservative The sample <br /> vials were then labeled with well designation, date,time of sampling and the sampler's initials The <br /> samples were transported in a chilled container under chain-of-custody to MAI for analysis The <br /> samples were analyzed for <br /> • TPH-g and TPH-d in accordance with EPA Method 8015 modified, <br /> • BTEX and MTBE in accordance with EPA Method 8020, and <br /> I <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
