i 1
f
04 December 2000
AGE-NC Project No 99-0592
r
3 2 LABORATORY RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the ground water sample collected from monitoring well
MW-1, located within the former UST excavation TPH-g was detected at a concentration of
380 micrograms per liter (µg/l) Benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylenes were detected at
concentrations of 1 7 µg/1, 1 3 µg/1, 0 53 ugll and 0 78 /.tg/l, respectively MTBE was detected at a
concentrations of 7 3 µg/1 (by EPA Method 8260) None of the target analytes were detected in
sample DW-1 collected from the domestic well
IAnalytical results of the ground water samples for the September 2000 monitoring event are
summarized on Tables 2 and 3 The laboratory report (MAI Laboratory ID 48976 and 48977),
' QA/QC and chain-of custody are included in Appendix B
' 4.0. SUMMARY/CONCLUSIONS
The following conclusions were drawn from the results of the site investigation and data collected
from adjacent sites
• Ground water elevation at the site decreased approximately 2 5 feet since the 14 June 2000
monitoring event
• The inferred local ground water flow direction is toward the northeast Additional monitoring
' wells located at 3535 East Cherokee Road were utilized to construct a ground water flow
direction map for the subject site Although the flow direction has rotated approximately 100
degrees to the east as compared to the June 2000 monitoring event, the northeasterly flow
' direction calculated during the September monitoring event is similar to previous monitoring
events over the past several years
' TPH-g was detected in the ground water sample from monitoring well MW-1 at a
concentration of 380µg/1 The TPH-g concentration was approximately 40% lower than, the
concentration detected during the June 2000 sampling event
' MTBE was detected at a concentration of 7 3 ,ug/l in-MW-1, a decrease of approximately
40% compared to the June 2000 sampling event
' 9 The concentrations of benzene in sample MW-1 were approximately 50% lower than the
'concentration detected during the June 2000 monitoring event Concentrations of,toluene,
ethyl benzene and xylenes were all higher during the current monitoring event
' a None of the target analytes were detected in the ground water sample collected from
domestic well DW,-1
Advanced Ge oEnvironmentai,Inc
1
