' 16 January 2006
• AGE-NC Project No 99-0592
In addition, the on-site domestic well was purged and sampled To purge the large domestic well,
' a drain valve was opened on the water storage tank and the pump was allowed to cycle on and off
for approximately 15 minutes
2 2 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' The depth to water in monitoring well MW-I was re-measured following purging to assure a
minimum of 80% recharge prior to sampling Water samples were retrieved from each purged
' monitoring well using a plastic bailer To sample the domestic well,a sampling port was opened at
the well head and samples were collected from the port while the pump was operating Each sample
was transferred into three laboratory-supplied 40-milliliter (ml) EPA-approved volatile organic
' analysis (VOA) vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid solution as a sample preservative
The samples were labeled, placed in a chilled container, and transported under chain of custody to
' Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories(CTEL),a California Department of Health Services(DHS)-
certified analytical laboratory, for analysis The samples were analyzed for
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method 8015M, and
' Benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene,and total xylenes(BTEX)and the fuel additives di-isopropyl
ether(DIPE),ethyl tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE),methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE),tertiary-
amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary-butanol (TBA), 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB),
' 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), ethanol, and methanol in accordance with EPA Method
8260B, and
' Trichloroethene(TCE)and tetrachloroethene(PCE)in accordance with EPA Method 8260B
' 3.0. FINDINGS
Ground water elevation, flow direction, and gradient were determined from field data collected on
' 22 June 2005 Laboratory analysis of ground water samples were used to quantify the impact to
ground water
'
31 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
' On 22 June 2005, depth to ground water was measured between 6127 feet and 61 88 feet below the
. top of the well casings, ground water elevations at the site ranged from-34 09 feet below mean sea
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
