s irr,st.a, P FAL 'rCQ" l
te SERVICE Governorl SOri
Cal/EPA gE Jtfl- 1 ' 10: 33
Mr. & Mrs. Larry Bowles James M. Strock
Secretary for
California 301 East Lodi Avenue Environmental
Environmental Lodi, CA 95240 Protection
Protection
Agency
Subject: Kick-A-Tire (39-TI-0565)
Integrated Dear Mr. & Mrs. Bowles:
Waste
Management
Board The attached letter from the City of Lodi Fire Department was received in this
8800 Cal Center Dr. office on July 3, 1996. In this letter, Mr. Steven Raddigan, Fire Marshal,
Sacramento CA 95826 specifies four fire safety conditions that must be met at your tire facility on
(916) 255-2200 301 East Lodi Avenue, Lodi, in order for him to not object to the Integrated
Waste Management Board (IWMB) issuing a Minor Waste Tire Facility
Permit to Kick-A-Tire.
As was discussed during my visit of March 21, 1996, it is essential that the
storage of waste tires at your facility meet the local fire authority
specifications before the IWMB can issue a Minor Waste Tire Facility Permit
to Kick-A-Tire. Failure to obtain such a Permit will result in enforcement
action being taken against Kick-A-Tire by the IWMB.
I will contact you early the week of July 14th to arrange an appointment for a
visit to Kick-A-Tire by Mr. Greg Oliveira, San Joaquin County Public Health
Services, Mr. Keith Cambridge, IWMB Enforcement Branch, and myself, to
determine if these four conditions have been met.
If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact me
at (916) 255-3896.
Sincerely,
Michael Keffer, I S
Permits Branch/Tire Unit
Permitting and Enforcement Division
Enclosure
cc: Greg Oliveira, San Joaquin PHS
Keith Cambridge, IWMB
Steven Raddigan, City of Lodi Fire Department
Recycled Paper
