Job Description <br />JOB PURPOSE: <br />Under close supervision, this position performs minor routine maintenance and repair services on different types <br />of vehicles. <br />Works with the assistance of a T2, T3, T4, TIC SS or SM, when performing technical and diagnostic type repairs. <br />Task assignments are directed by shop management to encourage development in a productive manner. <br />RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: (Five to eight primary duties describing the role) <br />Performs basic vehicle maintenance <br />➢ Performs component identification and minor repairs <br />➢ Performs preventive maintenance with training and support <br />D Performs facility maintenance duties <br />➢ Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available <br />➢ Diagnoses minor mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable <br />➢ Identifies root cause of "minor" failures/conditions and perform repairs as required <br />Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task <br />➢ Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, <br />DOT,MOT) <br />Other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to <br />Service Island support. <br />REQUIRED EDUCATION: <br />➢ High school diploma or its equivalent required <br />D Post -secondary vocational education strongly preferred <br />REQUIRED LICENSES: <br />Must have a valid driver's license <br />REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: <br />Some experience in transportation maintenance preferred <br />ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (If this is a DOT regulated or safety sensitive position, please provide specific criteria <br />required.) <br />D Effective interpersonal communication skills <br />➢ Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds <br />➢ Computer literacy required <br />t Must be available to work shift work/weekend as required <br />D Must have the minimum tools required as outlined in Maintenance policy 2.02 <br />➢ Must be able to perform all entry level task <br />➢ Demonstrated mechanical aptitude <br />1 <br />Revised: February 2014 <br />
