Every Ryder facility should have at least one Spill <br />Control Station on-site. Spill Control Station(s) must <br />be inspected monthly.to make sure spill clean-up <br />materials are in full supply. Inspections must be <br />logged using the Monthly Facility Inspection Log, <br />Form No. ES -38. (see section of ES -38 below) <br />Locations that have a Service Island should have one <br />spill kit at the Service Island AND one in the shop <br />area. You never know when or where a spill will <br />occur. <br />Ryder Spill Kit <br />Notification and Reportinb Requirements <br />Complete all required internal and external notifica- <br />tions and reports. Use the Facility and Vehicle Spill <br />Procedure Checklists and the Spill Response <br />Telephone Guide, posted at your facility, to identify <br />who must be contacted both at Ryder and in your <br />state. Additional information on Who, What, Where, <br />and When to Report Spills is located in the Ryder <br />Environmental Policy & Control Manual, Procedure <br />No. 6. 1, Exhibit F. <br />If XL Specialty Claims Administrators (formerly ECS <br />Claims Administrators) is handling your spill, all <br />notifications and reports will be made on your behalf. <br />If you use a local emergency response company, DO <br />NOT assume that reports or notifications are provided <br />for you. You need to complete the telephone and <br />written reports directly. <br />Ryder Environmental Awareness <br />Spill Prevention Control and <br />Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans <br />Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans <br />for facilities are required by the federal Environmental <br />Protection Agency (EPA). Facilities are required to <br />have these plans on-site if they have ABOVE- <br />GROUND storage container(s) that exceed specific <br />Gallons. These gallon and size requirements were <br />modified in regulations effective December 2002. <br />Underground storage containers/tanks are usually <br />excluded from most of these requirements so long as <br />they are managed in accordance with tank regulatory <br />requirements.
