The system is basically very simple in mechanical design
and electrical concept. The transmitter consists of a sealed tube extending the
f depth of the tank around which a "do-nut" float is free to move up or down as the
tank liquid level changes. The float contains an embedded magnet that provides a
1b continuous uninterrupted electric signal to a remote analog or digital indicating
device. The slightest change in the float level instantly changes the transmission
signal. Being a float operated device its reliability and accuracy is unaffected by
variation of the liquid specific gravity.
Material: The standard Direct Lift tank assembly consists of a 3 5/8" diameter
stainless steel float, properly guided to move freely on the '/2" stainless steel tube.
The mounting assembly on top of the tank has an explosion proof conduit housing
attached to a 4" bushing. The float and stainless steel tubing are installed through
the 4"tank opening.
Installation
The installation is easily accomplished by installing through the appropriate tank
I opening and attaching to the tank. The transmitter may be mounted on a standpipe
extending above the tank, provided the company is informed prior to fabrication.
I Electrical adjustments if required, are made at the indicator. The tank unit is pre-set
and ro adjustments should be necessary. Standard electrical wiring and wiring
practices should be followed. The low voltage wiring must be run in a separate
' conduit containing no line voltage. When the tank is underground an access
chamber large enough to permit removal and servicing must be provided.
K
Rw
m Vie' 1!15 J
..R.14,78" 2-412 TRANSMITTER
1"NPT
UNE
8.6D TO INDICATOR
LENGTH
Is
—-- 4"NPT TANK
-- FITTINO(STEELI ,
1
TANK
l.0.
(TYPICAL) STAINLESS STEEL
z' TUBE AND FLOAT
1
3 SB"O.D.
a-
3.0"MIN.
T'+ LEl
Pub.No.2-412.0 2001 Pneumeroator Co.,Inc.•All rights reserved•Litho in U.S.A.•May 2001
