T'he Tankgard Leak Detection System could be the most
important addition you make to your underground storage
system's operation. Community awareness and alarm over the
dangers of leaking storage tanks is increasing. And, with over
1.4 million' underground storage tanks in the United States,
there's an even greater chance of tank leaks causing under-
ground water supply pollution, fire hazards, evacuations or
road closings.
So don't take the r&kl With MSA's Tankgard Leak
Detection System you can help prevent a tank leak situation
from "getting out of hand" Because the Tankgard Monitor
quickly alerts you when a leak occurs in your tanks. Tankgard
sensors can be placed in bore holes around the perimeter
of a single-wall tank or between the walls of a double-wall
tank (see illustration) - close to the source of potential
danger. The solid-state Tankgard sensors are built to
withstand high vapor concentrations or liquid submersions.
And they can be located up to 500 feet from the
Tankgard Monitor.
We've also made the Tankgard Monitor easier to read
with descriptive, front panel display symbols. Graphic LEDs
immediately signal an interruption in the system's power
source, trouble in the tank area, or a real alarm situation.
The Tankgard Leak Detection System features four long -life,
solid-state sensors (vapor or liquid) connected to a centrally
located monitoring and alarm module. The sensors can be
located up to 500 feet from the monitor and are not degraded
by high vapor concentrations or liquid submersions. Miniature
So you're never left Inte dark about the integrity of your tank.
What's more, you can trust MSA to be there when
you have questions or need assistance with your Tankgard
Leak Detection System. For more than 50 years, we've serviced
above- and below -ground operations, both nationally and
internationally. And we believe your business is too important
to trust someone who may not be around after the sale.
At MSA, our dedication to product quality and
customer satisfaction is reflected in our new 200,000 sq It
Instrument Division in Cranberry Township, located 25 miles
north of Pittsburgh. We've devoted this facility entirely to
instrument operations - manufacturing, research, marketing
and administration - making it the headquarters for MSA
instruments. In addition, our new facility is the main branch
of our 11 Repair Service Centers located throughout the
country. So you can always depend on an MSA representative
being near you. Ready to provide you with the most advanced
product. information in the industry.
The Tankgard Leak Detection System from MSA. The
low-cost, low -maintenance detection device built to pay for
itself through your added tank security.
'Figure based on 1986 EPA Survey covering only firms curing fuel for retail sales or transportation
services. those storing fuel for company vehicles and private fieets, and funis.
vapor or liquid sensors are also available for use between the
walls of small tanks. Sensors are designed for continuous duty
and are intrinsically safe for Class 1, Div 1, Groups C&D, as
defined by the National Electric Code and listed by Underwriters'
Laboratory.
