PAGE 01
1: a a i , s]•
DESCRIPTION
The TSP-E.T.S Liquid Sensor is an electro -optic liquid sensor
whicli may be used with all Tank Sentinel" automatic tank
gauge consoles equipped with point sensor inputs. It may be
installed in the space between the walls of double wall tanks,
in sumps, or in other locations where the presence of liquid
indicates a leak has occurred. TheTSP-ETSismade ofthemically
resistant polysulfone plastic to assure compatibility with most
liquids and is supplied with 25 feet of oil resistant cable
attached. A normally closed output circuit provides supervised
operation, ensuring that broken wires and similar failures will
not go undetected.
THEORY OF OPERATION
The Accret to the TSP-EIS's reliability is its electro -optic
technology. Inside the body of the probe, a small light -emitting
diode creates a beam of infrared light. This light travels through
the transparent plastic prism to its surface. If the probe is dry,
the light is reflected back to the light sensor. When the probe
is immers-ed in liquid, the Hot travels out of the prism, and. no
light is reflected back to the light sensor. The light sensors
output signal is used to indicate whether the probe is wet ordry.
2.62
,02
RaH
WEX
W-1253mv,A
APPLICATION
The TSP-ETSMay be installed in fiberglass or steel double wall
tanks as well as in sumps and other locations. To install the
,sensor in a fiberglass tank, it is typically pulled into the
interstitial space using a "fish" string or wire. In steel tanks, the
probe is usually lowered directly to the bottom of the interstitial
space through a 2 -inch NPT fitting provided for that purpose.
Installation kits are available which include a riser cap and
other parts required to complete the installation.
INS,
ft—Mm q I mo In NO M 10 b d —=Trio
P.O.
