A recent review of the underground storage tank (UST) file for the above referenced facility indicated
that this office has not received your annual monitoring certification and line leak detector
certification. According to Title 23, California Code of Regulations, Section 2637 (b), this testing
must be performed at least once every 12 months. According to section 2636 (f)(4), you must submit
your pressurized line tightness test to this office annually (unless exempt under section 2636 (g)).
If these tests have not been performed in accordance with the required time frames, then schedule the
monitoring certification, line leak detector certification, and pressurized line tightness test with a
certified technician by May 18, 2002.
At this time we would also like to remind you that secondary containment systems installed after
January 1, 2001 shall be tested upon installation, six months after installation, and every thirty-six
months thereafter. Secondary containment systems installed prior to January 1, 2001 shall be
tested by January 1, 2003 and every thirty-six months thereafter (Section 2637 (a)).
In addition, this office must be notified of the test date and time 48 hours prior to performing any of
the above tests. Results from the above testing must be sent to this office within 30 days of the test
completion. It is the responsibility of the owner/operator to have all test results submitted to
this office by May 18, 2002.
