Site Preparation and InAkIlation Instructions TLS -350 UST MonitorinWstem • Groundwater Sensor Interface Module. One mod- ule accepts inputs from up to five monitoring well groundwater sensors. Maximum eight modules per system. • Type A Interface Module. One module accepts inputs from up to eight Type A sensors. Maximum eight Modules per system. • Type B Interface Module. One module accepts up to six Type B sensors, including dispenser pan and con- tainment sump sensors. Maximum eight Modules per system. 5. Input/Output Functions. Input and Output Modules provide for solid-state or switch inputs from external devices and for relay outputs to overfill alarms and external audible and visual warn- ing devices. Slots in the Power Area of the monitor are provided for up to eight Input and Output Modules in any combination (see Figure 2, "TLS -350 Interface Module Area "). The modules are: * Relay Output Module. One board incorporates four Form C output relays fused for 2 Amps. Maximum eight Modules per system. * 1/0 Combination Module. One module incorporates two Form C output relays fused for 2 Amps and two switch inputs. Maximum eight Modules per system. * Pump Sense Module. One module accepts input from up to four pump controls. Maximum eight Mod- ules per system. 6. Communications Interface Functions. Four slots are available in the Communications com- partment (see Figure 3, "TLS -350 Printer and Commu- nications Interface Area") to provide an interface be- tween the TLS -350 CPU, and physically or functionally separate devices such as computers, printers, and fac- simile machines. Any combination of up to three of the available modules may be installed; however, when an integral TLS -350 printer is used, one slot will be occupied by the printer interface module. 16 CAUTION: COMMUNICATIONS INTERFACE MODULE EXPANSION SLOTS 3 AND 4 CANNOT BE USED AT THE SAME TIME. EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION WILL RESULT IF BOTH ARE USED. The external interface modules are: • RS -232 Interface Module. Provides a 25 -pin fe- male D -connector for data transmission — direct via a null modem cable or through an external modem and over phone lines — to a computer or point-of-sale terminal. • RS -232 Interface Module with Auxilliary Port. Provides a additional 25 -pin D -connector for data transmission to a computer, point-of-sale terminal or printing device. • Internal Modem Module. A 300/1200 -baud inter- nal modem with twin snap -in RJ -11C or Modular jacks for direct data transmission over phone lines. Figure 1. TLS -350 Front Panel Features. 2
