SACRAMENNTO ST.,LODI CA <br /> 10/14/02 & 10/15/02 <br /> -NOTICE TO COMPLY- <br /> #12. Maintain the facility to minimize the release of a hazardous waste: <br /> A small waste oil spill (less than 5 gallons)was observed in the maintenance area. Begin <br /> handling all spills appropriately. Correct immediately. <br /> #15. Decontamination equipment was not provided at the hazardous waste storage area. <br /> Correct immediately. <br /> #16. Decontamination equipment was not maintained. Ball cock was shut off to the <br /> eyewash station next to the paint material storage area. - Correct immediately. <br /> #19. The following hazardous waste were onsite longer than 90 days without a permit or <br /> authorization: <br /> (a) Three 55-gallon metal drum containers and a coffee can that are located in the <br /> Beam and Col. Fabrication area containing used absorbent, waste oil. <br /> (b) One 55-gallon metal drum underneath the vacuum cleaner used to clean out the <br /> coolant sump that was located near the Beam Line Cutoff. <br /> (c) One 55-gallon plastic drum container located in the air compressor area <br /> containing oily wastewater. <br /> (d) Two 55-gallon metal drum containers located across from the paint material <br /> storage room containing paint waste. <br /> (e) Three 55-gallon metal drums and one 55-gallon plastic drum container located in <br /> the PL3 —Hazardous waste retention area. <br /> (f) Secondary containment of the chain lube material containing spillage. <br /> (g) Hazardous Waste Storage Area—Thirty-seven 55-gallon metal drums. <br /> (h) Secondary containment of product oil in the maintenance shop—2-3 inches. <br /> Have these containers of hazardous waste removed and properly disposed of according to <br /> Title 22, CCR and provide copies of the signed off manifests. Correct by 11/22/02. <br /> #20. All of the following containers of hazardous waste were not properly labeled: <br /> See a—e and g above. Also empty contaminated containers must be labeled with the date <br /> that the container was emptied and cannot be stored longer than one year from that date. <br /> See Title 22, sec. 66261.7 (f). <br /> #21. All containers of hazardous waste need to be kept closed at all times except when <br /> adding or removing hazardous waste. The following containers were not closed: one <br /> drum from (a), one drum from (d). Correct immediately. <br /> #24.
