Brown
Deputy District Attorney
FROM: Dennis L. Fields, Hazardous Materials Specialist for San
Joaquin County Office Of Emergency Services
SUBJECT: September 13, 1989 - Complaint towards Interlake Inc. (Lodi
Fab)
At approximately 1600 1 received a
telephone call from an
individual with
a complaint on improper storage of
waste cutting
oil at the
Interlake Inc.
(Lodi Fab) which operates at two sites in Lodi (1029
and 1030 S.
SacramentoThe individual stated there are
about eight - 55 gallon,
open top, drums located at one of
these facilies
which have been there
since January 1989. The individual
told me when
it rained,
the rain water
would cause the drum to fill up and
overflow onto
the ground
and then into
the storm drain.
I explained to the individual OES didn't handle hazardous waste disposal
requirements, but the County Environmental Section were the proper one's
he needed to speak to. I provided him the telephone number.
I asked the individual if I could have his name and telephone number so we
could contact him if we had any further questions. His response was
negative, he works for Interlake Company and is scared he might lose his
job.
