SAFEWAYCI. <br /> NorCal Distribution Center <br /> UNIVERSAL HAZARDOUS WASTE HANDLING <br /> TRAINING ACKNOWLEGMENT <br /> - Universal wastes are hazardous wastes that are relatively low hazards and can be <br /> managed under less strict requirements than other hazardous wastes. <br /> - Universal wastes are batteries, non-empty aerosol cans and fluorescent light bulbs <br /> - DO NOT throw batteries, non empty aerosol cans or light bulb in the regular trash <br /> - Place all Universal Waste in the appropriate disposal container located: <br /> o Batteries: Must place masking tape or nonconductive tape over the battery <br /> terminals. If battery is damaged or leaking, immediately place the leaking <br /> battery into a plastic bag.
