Board
Central Valley Region
3443 Routier Road, Suite A
Sacramento, CA 95827-3098
Re: Addition to the Waste Discharge Requirements, Tri
Valley Growers, Plant T, 26200 Nowell Road, Thornton,
CA.
Dear Robert:
WaterWork has been performing a subsurface investigation at Tri
Valley Growers Thornton Plant, We have defined a dissolved
gasoline plume near the fork-lift shop (see attached Figure) and
are now ready to begin groundwater cleanup activities.
We have proposed to Darlene Ruess of San Joaquin County and Tom
Peltier of your office installing a pump and treat remediation
system. The system would consist of a low flow pump ( 1-2 gpm)
and two 200-pound carbon absorption filters which would operate
on a 24-hour basis year-round. We are requesting permission to
reclaim the treated water by discharging on-site. The treated
water would be pumped to a storm drain that is connected to Tri
Valley' s waste collection system. This water will ultimately be
discharged on the facilities fields.
We would like to begin installation and operation as soon as
possible. Please notify me of any requirements or additional
information needed to make this addition to Tri Valley's existing
Waste Discharge Requirements.
Respectfully,
WaterWork
,o,Wi -,"- ,
Bill Channell
Senior Geologist
BC/ktt
Pc: Darlene Ruess '.
Tom Peltier
Juan Quijano
1710 MAIN STREET • ESCALON, CA 95320 • (209) 838-3507
FRESNO.CA(209) 222-3495 0 RENO.
