Box 388
Stockton, CA. 95201-0388
Attn: Mary Meays, Senior REHS
RE: Plant T: 26200 Nowell Road,'Thornton, CA.
Dear Ms. Meays,
Request for Comment
Please fmd the enclosed i:COPY of a proposal from SECOR International. Before Tri
Valley Growers selects, (and pays) SECOR to develop a full remediation plan TVG
would like to invite San Joaquin County Public Health Department to comment on
the concept.
General Plan
Groundwater movement in the area of the Plant T forklift shop is not rapid.
Seasonal infiltration by rain onto the exposed soils in and around the former
underground tank location may be significant as to move the residual contamination.
SECOR recommends the prevention of infiltration into the soils in and around the
former tank site.
To further control and remove residual hydrocarbons SECOR recommends increased
groundwater-recovery, with a groundwater drainage system. SECOR proposes to
perform bioremediation.upon.the excavated soils.
The water extracte&by the drainage system would require evaluation for potential
treatment. The type andscope of treatment would be based upon the concentrations
of petroleum, hydrocarbons found in the extracted water.
SECOR proposes to develop; a groundwater monitoring plan utilizing existing
monitoring wells on-site.
P.O.Bos 7114, BatMcy A,San Fiano mo,.GdWbm&94120-7114 Mone:(4159 445-1600 Telex:27-~ Fax (4L9 445-1628
