Background <br /> Impacted-soil source materials An alternative <br /> explanation(based on the fact that all three <br /> Hydropunch borings had drilled through Impacted <br /> soil)was that the Hydropunch analytical data may <br /> be due to cross-contamination from Impacted <br /> borehole water <br /> The RWQCB and PHS/EHD recommended that <br /> TVG Install an additional deeply-screened <br /> monitoring well(MW-7)at the location where <br /> HP-2 had been drilled This offered the potential <br />' for unambiguous groundwater analytical data to <br /> confirm or refute the presence of a deep plume at <br /> the Site If these data confirmed the presence of <br /> the deeper plume,the well would provide Intra- <br /> plume groundwater data required for site closure <br /> (RWQCB, 1996) In addition,the deep well could <br /> facilitate mitigation of the deep plume <br />' Alternatively, If these potential data refitted the <br /> presence of the deep plume,the SSI would be <br /> complete and the results could be summarized and <br /> submitted In a Closure Report <br /> HLA submitted to PHS/EHD and the RWQCB, <br /> Revised Work Plan Addendum Number 3,dated <br /> 'March 1, 1999 (HILA, 1999a) The addendum <br /> proposed a scope of work for the Installation of the <br /> deep well and additional Items requested by <br /> PHS/EHD The revised work plan addendum also <br /> provided written notification scheduling the <br /> fieldwork PHS/EHD approved the SSI -Phase <br /> Two scope of work in correspondence dated April, <br /> 19, 1999 <br /> L 1300001387371WP138737NI9 Harding Lawson Associates 6 <br />
