PM �� <br />' 38737002 <br />' Ms Mary Meays <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br />' Stockton, California 95202 <br /> Results of Monitoring Well Sampling <br /> t Third Quarter 1997 <br /> Trn Valley Growers Plant T <br /> 26200 Nowell Road <br /> Thorton, California <br /> Site Code 1920 <br /> Dear Ms Meays <br />' INTRODUCTION <br /> On behalf of Tri Valley Growers (TVG), Harding Lawson Associates (HLA) submits to the San Joaquin <br />' County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) and the Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board (RWQCB) the analytical results on groundwater samples collected from the sic monitoring <br /> wells on August 7, 1997 at the above referenced site These monitoring wells were last sampled in second <br /> ` quarter 1994 The site investigation and regulatory history is briefly outlined below The purpose of the <br /> sampling event is to provide recent groundwater quality data in support of classification as a low risk <br /> groundwater site in accordance with RWQCB criteria <br /> HLA recently submitted to PHS/EHD a report entitled Analysis of SECOR Investigation and <br />' Recommendations for Additional Work, Tri Valley Growers Plant T, 26200 Nowell Road, Thornton, <br /> California on August 5, 1997 The report included the following <br /> ' • A summary of the site investigation and regulatory history, <br /> • A review of the soil and groundwater analytical data, <br /> • A summary of the existing site conditions based on the review, and <br /> ' Recommendations for collection of additional data to complete site characterization and to provide <br /> the required data to justify classifying the site in accordance with RWQCB criteria <br /> ' As requested by the PHS/EHD, TVG sampled the niolutonng wells in conjunction with work proposed in <br /> the HLA report <br /> ' SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> Site Location and Topography <br /> TVG owns and operates Plant T, a tomato cannery, located at 26200 Nowell Road in Thornton, California <br /> ' (Plates 1 and 2) The area the former underground storage tanks were located occurs within the northern <br /> part of Plant T, adjacent to the forklift repair shop(Site) as shown on Plate 3 The Site has an elevation of <br /> approximately 11 feet above mean sea level (USGS, 1978) with very little topographic relief <br /> The surrounding land use is mainly agricultural with some residential areas A private residence borders <br /> the Site on the immediate north Agricultural fields occur to the northwest, northeast, and southeast of <br /> ` the Site the city of Thornton occurs to the west and southwest of the Site <br /> Engineering and <br /> ' Environmental Services 10265 Rockingham Drive Suite 150 Sacramento CA 95827 916/364-0793 Fax 916/364 5603 <br />
