,r <br /> Working To Restore Nature <br /> 1710 Main Street <br /> Escalon, CA 95320 <br /> Phone (209) 838-3507 <br /> FAX (209) 838-3509 <br /> January 24, 1994 <br /> Ms Mary y Mea s <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> P O Box 2009 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> RE Fourth Quarter 1993 Groundwater Monitoring Activities/Remediation System Performance <br /> Report, Tri-Valley Growers, 26200 Nowell Road, Thornton, California <br /> Dear Ms Meays <br /> This letter report updates RESNA Industries, Inc (RESNA) activities at Tri-Valley Growers' <br /> Thornton plant (Figure 1) during the fourth quarter of 1993 Activities during the quarter included <br /> monitoring of groundwater, sampling for dissolved hydrocarbons from the monitoring wells on site, <br /> treating all purge water from the monitoring wells through the remediation system, operation of the <br /> remediation system, and analysis of samples from the treatment system influent (well MW4) and <br /> carbon filter effluents Remediation system operation began on May 13, 1991 <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING & SAMPLING <br /> Groundwater monitoring was conducted in October, November and December Groundwater <br /> gradient maps illustrate a cone of depression and an area of influence created by pumping of the <br /> groundwater in monitoring well MW4 (Figures 2, 3 and 4) The water table (as measured in all <br /> wells except MW4) has risen an average of 1 20 feet since September 1993 The groundwater <br /> monitoring data are summarized in Table 1 Groundwater monitoring logs are included in <br /> Attachment A <br /> Groundwater samples were collected from monitoring wells MW1 and MW6 on December 2, 1993 <br /> after stabilization of pH, electrical conductivity (EC) and temperature The monitoring wells were <br /> purged using an above-ground centrifugal pump with dedicated tubing Well purge Iogs are included <br /> in Attachment A Samples were analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) <br /> and total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) by EPA methods 8020 and modified 8015, i <br /> respectively <br /> ANALYTICAL RESULTS <br /> No dissolved gasoline hydrocarbon constituents were reported at or above detection limits in <br /> monitoring wells MW 1 and MW6 <br /> 1521021QRTM4QR-1993 FNL <br />
