i <br /> r <br /> Working to Restore Nature <br /> 1710 Main Street <br /> Escalon, CA 95320 <br /> Phone (209)838-3507 July S, 1992 <br /> FAX (209)838-3509 <br /> R FM C CM <br /> Ms. Mary Meays �y <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services J U L 13 1992 <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> P O Box 2009 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> RE: 1992 Second Quarter Groundwater Monitoring Activities/Remediation System <br /> Performance Report, Tri-Valley Growers, 26200 Nowell Road, Thornton, <br /> California <br /> Dear Mary <br /> This letter report updates RESNA Industries' (RESNA's) activities at Tri-Valley Growers' <br /> Thornton plant (Figure 1) during the second quarter of 1992 Activities during the quarter <br /> included monitoring of groundwater, sampling for dissolved hydrocarbons from two monitoring <br /> wells on site, operation and maintenance of the remediation system, analysis of samples from <br /> the treatment system influent (well MW4) and carbon filter effluent Remediation system <br /> operation began on May 13, 1991. <br /> On May 28, 1992, RESNA personnel performed a maintenance visit to repair a system <br /> malfunction Servicing consisted of replacing the three-way valve, the compressor motor unit, <br /> and repairing the safety shut-off system After the repairs were completed the system was <br /> functioning properly and pumping at a rate of 1 2 liters per minute <br /> Groundwater monitoring was conducted in Apnl, May, and June. Groundwater gradient maps <br /> reflect a depression created by pumping of the groundwater in monitoring well MW4 (Figures <br /> 2 through 4) The cone of depression around the pumping well and the area of influence are <br /> demonstrated in these maps. The water table has decreased approximately one foot each month <br /> since the previous quarter The pumping rate has been adjusted accordingly to pump the <br /> decreased volume The groundwater monitoring data is summarized in Table 1 Groundwater <br /> monitoring logs are included in Attachment I <br /> QM061992 SAY <br />
