You returned the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Invoice for two tanks
stating that the UST's are no longer in use or being monitored. This is in violation of the California
Health& Safety Code,Chapter 6.7,Section 25298(Abandonment,closing or temporary ceasing of
operation of a UST).
On July 8, 1997,I performed a routine UST inspection, and provided UST monitoring and tank closure
information to American Transfer Company. The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division
(EHD)regulates UST's,and bills at the end of the year for all UST's that have not been properly closed
under permit and inspection. The facility at 2701 S.Highway 99 has been billed for the 1998 UST fees
and now owes both permit fees and penalties.
The compliance dates of the July 81 1997 inspection are past. Please contact me and submit a UST Closure
. Plan by March 23, 1998. If this date is exceeded an Office Hearing will be scheduled to bring American
Transfer Company into compliance.
If you have any questions please call me at(209)468-3468.
Sincerely,
Letitia Briggs
Cc: Mr. Glenn Prickett
enc: 1.
