PHSIEHD has
prepared comments and has summarized our April 8, 1996 conversation, regarding
information necessary to grant Ripon Farm Service access to Olympian Oil property.
Pursuant to our telephone conversation, I have enclosed a copy of correspondence dated
November 22, 1994 prepared by Ripon Farm Services's legal counsel, James DeMera.
PHSIEHD placed the Jimco Truck Plaza site on the contaminated site list based on
observations made by PHSIEHD staff on May 28, 1992. PHSIEHD has enclosed for your
information the following: a copy of the Underground Storage Tank Unauthorized Release
(Leak)/Contaminated Site Report, Notification of Hazardous Waste Discharge/Health and
Safety Code 25180.7, and the San Joaquin County Contaminated Site Input Form.
Subsequently, PHSIEHD performed two inspections of the Jimco Facility which has been
enclosed for your information.
PHSIEHD has discussed with Ripon Farm Service and Advanced GeoEnviron mental that
Olympian Oil will require an accurate site map prepared by a licensed surveyor locating soil
borings and monitoring wells which have been placed on the Ripon Farm Service site and
that accurately locates the property boundaries. PHSIEHD also indicated that a work plan to
complete the Ripon Farm Service investigation should be prepared which clearly identifies
and describes the proposed field activities that require access to Jimco Truck Plaza.
If you wish to discuss this correspondence, please contact me at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Mary Mea s, Senior EHS ME'rgay 9
Site Mitigation Unit Lead Senior
MM/22502.99
enclosures
c: Elizabeth Thayer, CVRWQCB c: Greg Vaughn, CVRWQCB
C' Bruce McCandless, Ripon Farm Service c: James DeMera III
C' Bill Little, Advanced GeoEnvironmental
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
