Hiram Duncan showed me that all water on the site <br /> ding the truckwash water, flows to a ditch, then to two ponds, in series! inclu- <br /> ding <br /> Board does not have waste discharge requirements for this discharge.The <br /> ditch contains some trash, including oil cans and plastic first pond The <br /> had up to -" of floating, orange-colored oil on thsurface. I took samples pond <br /> the oil and water and pond sediments near the inlet. The oil and water s es eof <br /> s <br /> were analyzed for volatile organics , acids and base/neutrals , metals and nitrate. <br /> The sediments were analyzed for volatile organics. The results of samples <br /> are as follows: the analyses <br /> Sam <br /> Constituent Concentration <br /> Sediments Toluene <br /> Water/Oil Phenanthrene $3 ug/kg <br /> Water/Oil Nitrate 72 ug/ml <br /> No other organics were detected. No metals were found0 19 mg/1 <br /> of their STLC. Toluene and phenanthrene are normal constittuentsrofhgasoline.one tenth <br /> I told Mr. Duncan that we would ask Jimco to submit a report of <br /> and that we would require the oil to be removed from theppond. Allfuture dis- <br /> charges discharge, <br /> charges should be free of oil . a dis- <br /> INSPECTION SUMMARY- <br /> This discharge appears to be <br /> wash disch t primarily s�.ormwater and wastewater from the truck- <br /> Y- The concentration of nitrate in the ponds is quite low. The <br /> ponds do contain oil , -b"t. nothing other than normal constituents of <br /> was detected.
