Your consultant for the underground tank remediation, Advanced GeoEnvironmental,
Inc. recommends that the fuel case be considered for no further action and recommends that
the associated monitoring wells be destroyed. This recommendation is contained in the
15 November 2008 Quarterly Report— Third Quarter 2008, Ripon Farm Service, 22871 South
Highway 99.
If a no further action determination is made for the fuel tank case, RF Land will be asked to
decommission the monitoring wells that it installed as part of the underground fuel tank
investigation. One of these wells, MW-5, is concurrently being used In the course of .
investigation of the extent of nitrate pollution, and MW-4 is in a position to be a downgradient
well for the nitrate investigation. Therefore, MW-4 and MW-5 need to be retained for use in
the nitrate investigation.
In a 12 January 2009 email, your attorney, Mr. Jeff Hawkins, requested a 30-day extension for
submittal of the supply well destruction work plan. The site is vacant, the well is not in use,
and Regional Water Board staff concur with the request, and look forward to seeing the supply
well destruction work plan by 15 February 2009.
If you have any questions, you may contact me by telephone at (916) 464-4680, or by email
at aterrell@waterboar s.ca.gov.
t
A Y ERRELL
Private Sites Cleanup Unit
California Environmental Protection Agency
Recycled Paper
