SITE CODE: 1605
932 South Highway 99 (Formerly 22871 South Highway 99)
Ripon, CA 95366
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed Quarterly Report
First Quarter 2007 dated April 24, 2007, prepared and submitted by Advanced GeoEnvironmental,
Inc. (AGE) on your behalf for the above-referenced. site. During the first quarter sampling event,
methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) was detected in groundwater samples collected from
monitoring wells MW-2 and MW-3 at 15 micrograms per liter (pg/L) and 14 pg/L, respectively;
therefore, EHD directs you to analyze for MTBE in groundwater samples collected from MW-2
and MW-3 during the second quarter 2007 sampling event and if MTBE is detected in these two
wells, continue analyzing for MTBE in groundwater samples collected from MW-2 and MW-3 as
part of each quarterly groundwater monitoring event. In addition, continue analyzing for 1,2-
dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in groundwater samples collected quarterly from MW-1, MW-2, MW-4,
MW-9 and MW-10; and continue analyzing for MTBE, 1,2-DCA, total petroleum hydrocarbons as
gasoline (TPH-g), total extractable petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-d), and benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), in groundwater samples collected annually
during the first quarterly sampling event from all monitoring wells.
By letter dated September 22, 2006, EHD conditionally approved the advancement of three direct-
push soil borings located on the west side of Highway 99 in the City of Ripon right-of-way. EHD
gave you until October 31, 2006, to response to EHD's recommendation for advancing a fourth
boring. To date, EHD has not received your response. You are now directed to submit a response
to EHD in regard to this recommendation no later thank July 13, 2007.
If you have any questions, please contact Vicki McCartney at (209) 468-9852 or by e-mail at
vmccartneyLc)sjcchd.com.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Victoria L.
