SITE CODE: 1605
932 South Highway 99 (Formerly 22871 South Highway 99)
Ripon, CA 95366
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed Additional Off-site
Assessment Work Plan prepared on August 4, 2006, by Advanced Ge oEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE)
on your behalf for the above-referenced site. In this work plan,"AGE proposes the advancement of
three off-site soil borings to total depths of 30 feet below surface grade to delineate the lateral
extent of petroleum hydrocarbon impacted groundwater down gradient of the former underground
storage tanks. EHD requested this investigation to define the groundwater plume containing 1,2-
dichloroethane (I2-DCA)by letter dated July 31, 2006.
I
EHD conditionally approves the advancement of the three direct-push soil borings located on the
west side of Highway 99 in the City of Ripon right-of-way. However, EHD believes either a fourth
boring is needed in line with the three proposed borings and located';between the City of Ripon
municipal well and the Ripon Farm Services site, or the southern-most proposed boring be
relocated linearly such that it is between the Ripon Farm Services sitefand the municipal well and
the middle proposed boring be relocated to be evenly spaced between the two other borings.
Please respond to EHD's comments concerning the addition of a'fourth'boring, or relocation of two
of the proposed soil borings by October 31, 2006.
