analysis of samples. Typical a continuing calibration veriation standard, which is
usually also a midpoint, is then analyzed -at a frequency of' once every ten samples
analyzed. The instrumental sequence ends with the analysis of .a continuing calibration
verification standard.. Individual gas chromatography methods may also have additional
method specific calibration verification requirements.'
Jim, in response to the last paragraph regarding comparing 8015M and 8260B. . .these are two
very different methods with two different calibration procedures. 8015M is a baseline to
baseline procedure where the analysis of specific compounds is not possible. The 8260B
GCMS method is for specific compounds. The results are:gnot really comparable for that
specific reason. I would be glad to discuss further with you or Vicki if needed.
Overall, vapor sample analysis is allowed with SW-846 8260B. Until specific standards for
this type of analysis have been established through a certification procedure,. the data
submitted should be accepted. As far. as -the amount and required quality control required ,
for specific instrument analysis, the EPA does have these requirements firmly established
and data should not be accepted unless these standards are followed.
I hope this helps..- .please let me know if I can provide,!additional information or
qualification.
Thanks, Leticia
Leticia E.
