SITE CODE: 1605 932 South Highway 99 (Formerly 22871 South Highway 99) Ripon, CA 95366 San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed Quarterly Report- Second Quarter 2006 prepared on July 14, 2006, by Advanced GeoEnvi.ronmental, Inc. (AGE) on your behalf for the above-referenced site. In this report, AGE recommends that only monitoring wells M'W-1, MW-2, MW-4, MW-9, and MW-10 be sampled during the third quarter 2006 groundwater sampling event, and that the groundwater samples be analyzed only for 1,2-dichio.roethane (1,2-DCA) to reduce expenses. E.HD concurs with these recommendations for the third quarter sampling event. However, continue collecting depth to water measurements in all wells during this and future quarterly groa.andwater monitoring events for the purpose of determining the groundwater gradient. Although EHD agrees to a reduction of sampling M W-3 and MW-5 during the third quarter of 2006, E]-]D directs that these monitoring wells be sampled anrivally. Please collect groundwater samples from these wells during the first quarterly sampling event each year and analyze the groundwater samples for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH- g), total extractable petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-d), and benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX). Also, in addition to analysing groundwater samples for 1,2-DCA each quarter from the remaining wells (MW-1, MW-2, MW-4, MW-9 and MW-10), EHD directs that you collect groundwater samples annually from these wells during the first quarterly sampling event and analyze the samples for methyl tertiary butyl_ ether(MTBE), TPH-g, TPH-d, and BTEX. Additional investigation is needed to define the groundwater plume containing 1,2-DCA down gradient of MW-9 and MW-10, as recommended by AGE in Quarterly Report — Second Quarter 2006. Please submit a work plan to EHD by October 25, 2006, that will address the lateral extent of 1,2-DCA to the west-northwest of this site.
