INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> In accordance with a request from Ripon Fam Service {RFS},Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc , <br /> ' (AGE) has prepared this report for 22871 South Highway 99, Ripon, California (the site) RFS <br /> stores and distributes whose sale and retail quantities of agricultural pesticides and fertilizers to <br /> agricultural business The scope of work was to assess and monitor the lateral extent and <br /> ' concentrations of hydrocarbon-impacted ground water at the site The location of the site and its <br /> surroundings are illustrated in Figure 1 -Location Map Structures and monitoring well locations <br /> associated with the site are depicted in Figure 2 - Site Plan <br /> z <br /> This report documents the advancement of soil probe borings in October 1996, and quarterly <br /> monitoring and sampling activities performed in December 1996 Monitoring and sampling activities <br /> ' were conducted in accordance with both the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD)and the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board (CVRWQCB) guidefines for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br /> Background information including details of previous site assessment work, was last resented in <br /> g � g p p <br /> ' the April Quarterly Report, dated 20 June 1996, prepared by AGE <br /> 20. PROCEDURES <br /> 21 PROBING AND SAMPLING <br /> On 30 October 1996, three soil probe borings were advanced on the Jimco Truck Stop, located <br /> immediately north of the site, and one soil probe boring was advanced on the site Probe boring B 14 <br /> was advanced south the truck wash building, probe boring B 15 was advanced near the north end <br /> of a former dispenser on the Jimco site, probe boring B 16 was advanced at the southwest corner of <br /> the Jimco site, and probe boring B 17 was advanced on the western end of the RFS site Figure 2 <br /> ' depicts the locations of the probe borings All probe borings were advanced using AGE's van- <br /> mounted Geoprobe 5400 soil probing machine <br /> Each probe boring was advanced to a depth of 20 feet below surface grade (bsg) Discrete soil <br /> samples were collected in each probe boring at 5-foot intervals, samples were collected using a <br /> lie l 375-inch diameter, two-foot long, piston type sampler loaded with four pre-cleaned 6-inch brass <br /> sleeves <br />
